Terms of Service

Last updated October 3, 2026

These terms cover the StrataWeather website, mobile apps and ChatGPT app (“the service”), operated by Aarkc Software (“we”). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What the service is

StrataWeather provides weather forecasts, radar-based rain forecasts, weather alerts and long-term natural-hazard estimates. They are produced from observations and forecast models published by government and research agencies, and from our own processing of them.

Weather is uncertain

Please read this section carefully.

  • Forecasts can be wrong, and they are less reliable the further ahead they look.
  • Alerts and notifications can arrive late or not at all. They depend on your device, your network, your notification settings and our systems all working.
  • Do not rely on StrataWeather as your only source of information for decisions that affect safety, health or property. Follow the warnings and instructions of your national weather service and local authorities.
  • Natural-hazard figures are statistical estimates from historical records. They are not an insurance, engineering or legal assessment of any property.

StrataWeather is not an emergency service.

Accounts

You do not need an account to use the service. If you create one, use an email address that is yours, and keep access to it secure: your email or Google account is how you sign in. You are responsible for what is done through your account.

You can stop using your account at any time and ask us to delete it. The Privacy Policy explains what an account stores.

Plans and payment

StrataWeather is free to use today. Free accounts are limited in how many places they can save and which alerts they can set. If we introduce paid plans, we will show the price and the terms before you are charged.

Acceptable use

When you use the service, do not:

  • Break the law or other people's rights.
  • Try to get into systems or accounts you are not authorised to use.
  • Disrupt the service, or send it so many requests that it degrades for others.
  • Present StrataWeather forecasts or alerts as official warnings from a government agency.

Our content and yours

The StrataWeather software, design, name and logo belong to Aarkc Software. The observations and model output the forecasts are built from are published by their sources under their own terms.

The places, labels and alert rules you save are yours. We use them only to provide the service to you.

Other companies' services

Parts of the service are reached through other companies: the app stores, Google sign-in and ChatGPT. Their own terms apply to your use of them.

No warranty

The service is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not warrant that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or free of errors.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, Aarkc Software is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss that results from relying on a forecast, an alert or a hazard estimate from the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending use

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, and we may change or discontinue the service.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change we will publish the new version here and change the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
